Chabad launches course on ‘Curious Tales of the Talmud’
Chabad of Greater St. Louis will present “Curious Tales of the Talmud: Finding Personal Meaning in the Legends of Our Sages”, a new six-session course developed by the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute (JLI). The course will begin on Monday, April 29 and will continue for six consecutive Monday evenings. Classes will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the JCC Arts and Education Building, 2 Millstone Campus Drive in Creve Coeur.
“We’ll explore the mystical dimension of the Talmud called the Aggadah, to uncover profound wisdom from some of the zaniest and most cryptic legends you’ll ever encounter,” said Rabbi Yosef Landa, the facilitator of the course and director of Chabad of Greater St. Louis. “Whether you are fascinated by the Talmud and Jewish mysticism, or whether you are seeking a fun and meaningful experience, you won’t want to miss this course.”
Like all JLI programs, the course is designed to appeal to people at all levels of Jewish knowledge, including those without any prior experience or background in Jewish learning. Courses are open to the public and attendees need not be affiliated with a particular congregation.
