“The Art of Parenting,” a six-week lecture series, is being hosted by Chabad in Fort Lee and West Orange in conjunction with the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute. The lectures in West Orange began on January 19, and are being given by Rabbi Mendy Kasowitz, rabbi of Chabad of West Orange and a JLI-certified instructor. The class met last week and will continue for five additional consecutive Mondays at the Chabad of West Orange, from 7:30 p.m.–9 p.m.; the fee is $90 per person ($85 for a returning student) and $160 per couple. Rabbi Mordechai Shain of Lubavitch on the Palisades in Tenafly is conducting the six-course sessions at 8:00 p.m.–9:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, beginning January 27 at the Chabad House, 11 Harold Street in Tenafly. Classes will focus on issues common to all parents. In The Art of Parenting, parents will be encouraged to face these and other parenting challenges in a safe and educational environment. They will be taught through lectures and exploration of timeless insights from Jewish wisdom to instill values, foster independence, and ensure the long-term success and emotional well-being of today’s children.
