On Wednesday, Jan. 25, Chabad of SE Morris County will begin a new Jewish Learning Institute course titled “Money Matters-Jewish Business Ethics.” The six–week course is CLE accredited, and will meet on six consecutive Wednesdays, from 7:30 to 9 p.m., at the Chabad Center located at 42 Park Ave. in Madison.

The six lessons will include topics such as: “Insider Trading,” “Living Wages,” “Bankruptcy,” and CEO Compensation.”

“This course will teach the Wisdom of the Ages on today’s economic crisis. It will challenge business theories and assumptions, and help find clarity on matters most relevant in the times we find ourselves in,” said Rabbi Shalom Lubin, JLI Instructor and Director of Chabad of SE Morris County.

Like all JLI programs, “Money Matters” is designed to appeal to people at all levels of Jewish knowledge, including those without any prior experience or background in Jewish learning. All JLI courses are open to the public, and attendees need not be affiliated with a particular synagogue, temple or other house of worship.

The course fee is $80, which includes the course workbook and weekly power point presentations, videos, and materials. All attendees are welcome to attend the first class on Jan. 25 free of charge. There is also a special couple’s rate of $120. Scholarships are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
